Recently I've been trying to eat healthy. What was meant to be just cutting the fried foods and adding more fruits turned into a craze and a 1400 calorie diet. So when I first started calculating how many calories were in what, I really thought to myself whether or not I actually wanted to start this lifestyle. I mean, it would be giving up many foods that I wasn't so eager to let go. Of course the fried food and trans fat products were easy to cut. However, working at a frozen yogurt shop, it is only too easy to get a small cup of yogurt which, in turn, adds up to alot after every pour. I found that replacing frozen yogurt with apples in lime juice was just as good and a lot less calories. So after five days of this 1400 calorie diet, I am actually starting to feel better about myself. I plan out the three meals, portioning my calories including a snakc between both meals. The only downfall is that the only scale we currently own does not work which makes it harder to track my progress.
I thought that Friday night dates would be difficult since we normally go out to eat somewhere. But I found that anywere we went, there would be something there with low calories. It turned out that we went to Taco Bell and I got the Spicy Chicken Taco which is only 160 calories each. So with every calorie counting towards my 1400 goal, I found that at first I was starving! Now I am used to the ammount of food and I try to find more ways to walk around more. Hopefully by monday, I'll notice a slight weight change on our broken scale!
