I know I haven't updated my blog in a while, but that's only because I haven't had much inspiration to write from. All that changed this morning. This is Trixie's story.
Tyler and I recently spent the week up in Pocatello, ID with the family. After taking off and landing at three different locations, we were there. Tyler and I decided beforehand that we would pack light so that we could bring more stuff home that we had left in Idaho. One coveted item that we were both anxious to bring home was Tyler's fish tank.

When we got home, I was so excited about having fish that I had set up the entire tank with or without fish. So YESTERDAY was date night and we decided to go pick out some fish together. It was fun to go to all the pet stores and look at the birds that looked like Maurice and all the cool saltwater fish as well. We ended up getting this:

Bamboo

I know the Platy looks like a goldfish but it is so much more cooler than that!
I woke up this morning to find my Guppie floating belly up and I thought to myself " Jeez, that didn't last long. I am definitely going to get a refund."
So I proceed to taking the fish out, cleaning out the murky water, then filling up the water again and putting my one and only fish back into her lonely tank.
However, I saw something orange glitter from the other side of the tank and when I looked closer, I could not believe my eyes. There it was, a tiny baby fish! I was shocked to say the least. Where on earth did this fish come from?! But there it was in plain sight.
So I rushed to the computer to type my question on where this baby fish came from ( I thought both of the fish were male) and how to care for it on Yahoo! Answers. I figured that although Yahoo! Answers may not always be credible, I could probably get a good answer from someone out there in the same situation as me.
As I was typing, my question, ANOTHER fish appeared. this was bizarre. I thought maybe the first one had slipped into the bag at the pet store, but to have two slip in? I would have noticed that.
Ever since then more and more appeared until I finally found them all. I now have eight baby fish and when you think about it, it's kind of a sweet deal. I went into the fish store to buy two fish and came out with nine ( The other one died).
Such cute little Houdini's!
I of course had to go to the pet store and ask them how to care for these small frys. The lady reassured me, this is how it went down.
Petsmart Lady -"Yeah, you bought live breed fish, they can incubate the sperm for up to three months. It happens all the time and in another three months, you'll probably have some more."
Me- "Oh...Okay...Um, well, do I need to do anything special for them I mean food wise and such?"
Petsmart Lady- "Oh so you decided you were going to keep them?"
I thought this was quite a silly question, I mean doesn't everybody know I'm pro-life for fish?
I guess In a couple of weeks I should see them grow up and such, if I can keep them alive that long. So, I might have some homegrown fish for sale soon all because of my little whore fish, Trixie ;)
